Today was Summer's birthday. Moving in yesterday handwavily with Chris in a future San Francisco was one of the best decisions she ever made. She couldn't think of a better present.

She also couldn't help but think about how old she would actually be in this future. It kind of made her head hurt.

Some point during the afternoon, that phone of hers would be ringing.

Two years of dating, even if it was a while ago now. Of course Shawn could remember her birthday.

Summer glanced at the caller ID and smiled softly. "Hi Shawn."

"Summer," he greeted in return, grinning a little even if she couldn't see it.

"Happy Birthday. Hope I'm not catching you in the middle of celebrations or anything."

"Nope, you aren't interrupting anything," Summer replied. "It's good to hear from you."

"Wouldn't forget this one," he assured her. "You enjoying your day?"

"Yeah, I am. Just moved to San Francisco. In the future," Summer replied. "So, how are things?"

"Good," he said, chuckling. "They're... really good. Got Lana living with me for the summer so... " He was pretty happy.

"Future, huh?" he asked. "Things change much in twenty years or so?"

"Sounds like you and Lana are doing well," Summer said, and she sounded genuinely happy for them. "There are some technological advances, but for the most part? Pretty much the same."
