Room 306, Saturday Morning

Summer wasn't sure how she was feeling when she woke up. Sad that she and Shawn had decided to break up, glad they could still be friends, and relieved that they had finally talked about things.

Even though this was probably for the best, she was still planning to spend the day moping and possibly marathoning The Valley DVDs. She had no idea that those plans would likely be interrupted.

"Can you even reach the coffee maker?" Summer asked. "And I'm not sure cookies are good for breakfast. Maybe we can go to the Perk and get something. How's that sound?"

"I'm not SHORT!" Chris insisted, pouting at her.

Summer couldn't help smiling at that. "How old are you?"

"I'm six," Chris said, in a very 'duh, you should know that' tone. "I'll be seven in May!"

"Oh, you'll be so grown up then," Summer said, chuckling slightly.

"Uh huh," Chris said seriously.

Summer peered into the fridge. "Since you're almost grown up, you can have a cookie. There's some milk in here, too."

"Thank you, Summer," Chris said, smiling broadly at her. "Do we still get to go to the Perk?"

"You're welcome," Summer replied as she poured some milk into a cup for him. "I suppose we could do that...if you're good."

"I'll be good, I promise!" Chris said.

"Good," Summer said, handing him a cookie and the milk.

Chris beamed at her. "You're the bestest roommate ever," he declared.

"Of course I am," Summer agreed.
