Summer was lying on her bed, snuggling Pancakes and possibly sulking. She'd been avoiding being in her room lately. Chris surely must know about her fight with Savannah.

She probably told anyone she could that Summer was an evil psycho bitch. Summer didn't care. She did what she thought was right to protect one of her friends. Okay, maybe she did care a little what people thought of her. Also, she didn't want Savannah to set her on fire or something. That would suck.

It was times like this when she really wished Shawn was here.

Chris nodded. "And you're definitely one of my best friends. Which is why I got so confused. I mean, yeah, I wouldn't want to see anyone hurt you either. But Wyatt said you attacked her."

"Things escalated, like I said," Summer explained. "I went there to talk to her and then...we just really got into it. I don't even know how it happened. We ended up fighting each other."

"You're okay though, right?" Chris asked. "And... you aren't interested in me like that, right?"

"I'm fine, yeah," Summer said. "And god no. I mean, you're a great guy and all, but you're my friend. That's all. Besides, I'm very happy with Shawn."

She looked down sadly. "I just don't want any more of my friends getting hurt...after Marissa..."

"Oh, Summer," Chris said, moving over to sit next to her. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "I'm sorry. I understand. But trust me, nothing like that is going to happen to me."

Summer nodded. "I know. I guess I overreacted. And I feel bad about it. Maybe I should talk to her."

"Why don't you let me talk to her first?" Chris suggested.

Summer nodded. "That's probably a good idea."

Chris leaned over and gave her a proper hug. "And the next time you think that I might get hurt, will you talk to me first?"

Pulling back, Chris smiled. "And you're kinda scary when you're angry," he teased.

"Yeah, I've been told that," Summer said with a faint smile. "I'm sorry if I messed things up between you and Savannah."

Chris shrugged. "I'm going to go talk to her and see what's up. But it's not like we're exclusive or anything."
