OOC: Character Info

Canon Background: Summer is from the The OC. She started out as a stereotypical spoiled princess. She generally looked down on those she felt were inferior, including the boy who had a major crush on her. She really was not a nice person, exhibiting snobbish tendencies.
Right before her sophomore year of high school, her best friend Marissa started having major mental health issues and nearly died after downing pills with alcohol. This had a major impact on Summer. As a result of that and taking an interest in a social misfit named Seth (the boy who had a crush on her), she was becoming a better person. It's at that point in canon that I am pulling Summer from. In canon, she fell in love with Seth, even risking her reputation. He has had the most influence on her, allowing her to change for the better. She was still somewhat of a spoiled brat, but she was also more caring. She also was a great source of snark. If I had to compare her to anyone, I'd say she's a lot like Cordelia during the Buffy years.
Summer at Fandom High: Summer was sent to Fandom High because her father was afraid Marissa would have a bad influence on her. She had already started to change, hence why she isn't so mean. She will be nice to people because she wants to be liked. However, if she isn't impressed with someone, she will let that be known. Any negative thoughts she might have about anyone? NOT how I feel. Just want to make that clear.
In canon, it was Seth that had the most positive affect on her (at least in S1). In Fandom, attending a school with so many diverse people will likely have a positive affect on her. She'll also feel a bit insecure and ordinary compared to those with super powers.
She has a soft spot for geeky types (she fell for one after all), so she may be drawn to characters like that. Also, she has a thing for jocks. She can be a bit of a flirt, but not excessively.
Other Stuff: Summer is from 2003. This really won't have much of an impact on her since things are pretty much the same. And there are cellphones, so she isn't going to be all that bothered by it.
I think that's all the important stuff to know for now.
Canon Background: Kaywinnit Lee "Kaylee" Frye is from the tragically short lived Firefly. She was the firefly class ship Serenity's mechanic. She was really quite good at it, even though she had no formal training. It was definitely a natural talent.
Kaylee was a very sweet and caring person, often seeing the good in everyone. She mostly kept a sunny disposition even during dire situations (except for the time she got shot). During the show's run, she was in love with Simon Tam. He liked her too, but never acted on it because he was too busy caring for his sister. Most of the crew affectionately referred to her as "Mei-Mei" (little sister in Chinese).
She loved Serenity and even talked to her as if she was a sentient creature. Whenever her mechanic abilities failed her, she would feel terrible. Also, she does not take kindly to anyone putting Serenity down. She would also get angry if anyone sabotaged machinery on purpose. Even though she was a mechanic and wasn't afraid to get dirty, she still liked girlish things like pink poofy dresses.
Kaylee at Fandom High: When River decided to attend Fandom High, Kaylee thought it would be fun as well. Also, she promised Simon she'd keep an eye on her. The events of Serenity have not occurred yet for this Kaylee, which means the Zoe in Fandom is not her Zoe. Try not to think about that too much. It'll hurt the brain less if you do. ;)
Kaylee still has much of the same personality.

Yeah, I know she graduated and no longer lives in Fandom (woe!), but she isn't completely going away thanks to the alumni comm. Here's a link to her FHWiki entry. It's more detailed than the entries of my other characters, so I don't feel I need to explain as much about her in this post.
