Summer couldn't cook, but the kids should really eat something. So she did what she knows best. She picked up the phone and ordered Chinese. Then she set up a small picnic for herself, Devon, and Marissa while Matthew was off visiting his Uncle Wyatt.
"Mom, it's not a holiday," Marissa pointed out.
Summer blinked. "I know that."
"We usually have Chinese if it's a holiday like Thanksgiving or Chrismukkah," Marissa said.
Summer rolled her eyes. "Well, here, in this timeline, we have Chinese even when it isn't a holiday."
Marissa shrugged. "Okay."
That would be when Devon started stabbing the sweet and sour chicken really hard with her fork. All Summer could do was laugh. Oh yes, this was definitely Summer's kid.
