Room 306, Monday All Day

Summer was in her room, quietly celebrating her birthday. It was very different from how she celebrated last year. She was lucky to even remember that night. Today, she wasn't in the mood to be celebratory. She read a few emails from friends back home. There was one email missing, though. The one from her best friend she'd never receive again.

"Happy birthday to me," she said to Pancakes. As usual, she got a nose twitch in response.

"Good. Because Wyatt really doesn't need encouragement to do things that make me flail," Chris said. "Speaking of which, you do know he has pictures of that catfight between you and Savannah, right?"

"What? I...can't even pretend to be surprised by that," Summer said, shaking her head.

"I'm sorry," Chris apologized. "I asked him not to show them to anyone and he said he wouldn't... but, it's Wyatt."

"I'm not too worried. He must know that both Savannah and I have scary tempers," Summer said.

Chris snorted in amusement. "Okay, that would be pretty funny. I could probably sell tickets or something."

"You'd share the profits with me, right?" Summer asked.

"But of course," Chris said. "Hey, if nothing else, it would keep us in coffee for a while."

Summer grinned. "As long as there's coffee. That's the important thing."

"Well in that case, I guess I can return that other present I bought you," Chris teased.

"You got me another present?" Summer asked, trying not to sound too eager.

"I am the best roommate ever," Chris reminded her, grabbing a small wrapped package from his night stand.

"Awww, you really didn't have to get me anything," Summer said, though that wasn't going to stop her from accepting it.

"I hope you haven't bought it for yourself already," Chris said, handing her the package.

Summer took the package and quickly opened it. Immediately, she let out a squeeing sound. "The Valley!"

She peered at the cover. "Season four! I didn't have that one. Thank you."

Chris really was the best roommate ever.

Chris grinned. "You're welcome. Just don't make me watch it with you, okay?"

Summer mock pouted. "Awww, spoil my fun."

Then she smiled. "Seriously, though. Thank you. I appreciate it."
