Room 306, Saturday Night [Alpha Beta Gremlin Sleepover]

After taking care of some ~~plotty stuff still in progress~~ things, Summer rushed back to her room to set up for the slumber party.

Snacks? Check.

Chick Flicks? Check.

Movies featuring shirtless boys? Check.

"I am without complaints at the moment," Willow said. "We're past the new stage and into the snuggliness that comes when you've been together for a while. It helps that I find few things wrong with him." She grinned.

Annette laughed, "I hope I never find anything wrong with Dick, and our snuggliness cannot yet be as awesome as yours. But I like it all the same."

"Dick hates Veronica Mars," Willow said. "It's a good sign that he is intelligent and has excellent taste. Well - a sign other than when he picked you for a girlfriend, obviously."

"Tell me about this Veronica Mars?" She asked, curious. "And thanks, Willow." she added with a grin.

"Total nutcase," Willow said. "Luckily she graduated so she's not here anymore, but if she ever comes back do what you can to avoid her. Her reality is not ours."

"Seriously? What did she do to Dick for him to hate her so bad?"

"That I don't know," Willow admitted. "He told me they were from the same town, and that she was awful to him, but he was not sharey with the details. Whatever it was I'd believe it though. She's mean for no good reason at all."

Annette frowned. "Then I don't like her either. If she was awful to him, she better not talk to me if I ever see her. I'll have to tell her what's what. Even though I really don't know. But I'm a nice girlfriend like that." She nodded.

"I totally get that," Willow said. "You don't want to see what I'd do if somebody tried hurting my Peter."

Annette raised her hand, "High five, cause it's all about that, isn't it? Someone tried to mess with Dick? I'd be all in their face. Yep. I might be short and stuff but I got skillz."

Willow high fived her back. "If you ever needed help? I'd be there. It's what friends do."

"Same here, Willow," Annette beamed. "You're ever stuck, I am so there and kicking butt. I've never had to kick butt before but I think I'd be pretty good at it."

"You'd be amazed how much you can do when you have to," Willow said. "I used to be the type who ran away when scary things happened... or, if I'm being honest, walked right into the middle of them because I had no idea what was going on. But now I am not afraid of the butt kicking when it is called for."

"I try to pacify alot, I will admit it." she offered. "And...danger zones sort of attract me for some unearthly reason I cannot seem to comprehend yet." She paused, thinking of Spy Tech.

"Still? I've never been in a situation where I've had to kick butt. I did, once, walk into a situation pretty much blinded. It...didn't end very well."

"Anything you want to talk about?" Willow asked, giving her a sympathetic look.

Annette looked down, "It seems like such a long time ago now." She glanced over at Willow with a soft, sort of solemn smile. "My boyfriend was killed, the summer before I came here."

Willow gasped. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!"

She waved her hand, "No, really. It's okay. He was my boyfriend for only a short period of time. And it was just an...accident. A terrible time that went horribly wrong."

"Still, makes the 'my boyfriend cheated on me then dumped me for my own good' thing I went through seem seriously unimportant," Willow said.

"No? Cheated on you? Then dumped? That is so wrong, Willow. Is he around anymore?" Annette didn't offer anything further about her last boyfriend. That whole bet thing was still amazingly hurtful when she considered it fully.

Willow shook her head. "I haven't seen or heard from him since I came here. Which was the point of my coming here from my perspective, so I am good with this outcome. Especially now that I'm with Peter. Not that we girls need men to be happy, but you have to admit that having a guy who loves you and thinks you're a hot mama does help to soothe the insecurity that nobody will ever want you ever again."

Oh, Willow hit the nail on the head and Annette gave her an endearing smile. "You have just said what I feel, perfectly. I don't need a boyfriend, was actually not looking - but, having him now lets me know and think that I'm okay and my lack of self-worth really was just short lived." She looked down and grinned more. "I don't know if Dick loves me yet or not. It's sort of too soon I think." But feelings were feelings, and Annette's were pretty strong.

"I get that," Willow said. "I was definitely not looking when I came here. If anything, I was of the opinion that hiding and not dealing with anyone of the male persuasion was a good idea. But Peter proved to be too wonderful. The entire male species owes him a lot for restoring my faith in them."

That made her chuckle. "Peter is really nice, Willow. From the few occassions that I have spoken to him he seems, really gentlemanly. Dick? Makes me laugh like crazy and I think that is the first thing that drew me to him. I think we get along pretty great, if not for a few porn issues...umm, I didn't mean to say that?"

"If you password protect the files on your computer he shouldn't be able to find them," Willow said.
