Room 306, Saturday Morning

Summer was sitting on her bed, flipping through a gossip magazine she'd brought with her from home. Though the gossip from this year was intriguing, she still preferred to know what was going on with all the famous people back in her dimension.

She was waiting impatiently for the pot of coffee she'd started to finish. She'd never made coffee on her own before, so this would be an interesting experiment.

She probably should have just gone to The Perk.

Chris couldn't help but laugh. "My grandpa taught me how to do laundry when I was ten," he admitted. "I think he was tired of the sheer amount of clothes that Wyatt and I went through."

He got up to pour them new cups of coffee. "Are the laundry machines attacking something I should be worried about?"

"I...um, had a maid who did all that," Summer said. "The school is lacking in those, so I had to figure it out myself."

"I heard they went on strike once, but not sure if they actually attacked," she continued. "During finals week, all the books and writing utensils randomly attacked. Made studying difficult."

"You had a maid?" Chris asked. "Well, I guess that explains why you can't make coffee either." He handed her a fresh mug.

"Yeah," Summer said, taking the mug from him. "Thanks."

Chris smiled. "So how'd you end up here?"

"My dad thought my best friend Marissa would be a bad influence on me, so he sent me here thinking it was a normal school." Summer couldn't help laughing at that. "What about you?"

"Grandpa decided to send me and Wyatt here after the almost car accident when he realized we were getting our powers back," Chris said. "He knew it was a place where we could learn about magic."

"Guess you need to learn how to use your powers and stuff?"

Chris nodded. "Well, we need to figure out what they are first. And then learn how to use them."

"Learning what they are first would be a big help, yeah," Summer agreed.

"I think I have some telekinesis, but I have no idea how to use it," Chris said. "And Wyatt has that protective shield, but we don't know what else."

"So it runs in your family, huh?" Summer said.

Chris nodded. "My aunt Prue was a telekinetic. And my aunt Paige had a kind of telekinesis too. My mom could freeze time and blow things up and my aunt Phoebe had visions and empathy."

Summer smiled. "It's cool that your aunt actually goes here now. I've seen her around, but never really talked to her before."

"It was weird talking to her," Chris admitted. "But it'll be nice to get to know her."

"I bet it will," Summer agreed.

Chris finished his cup of coffee and got up to pour another cup. "I think I'm going to take a walk before I hit the books," he said. "I'll catch you later, okay?"
